Types of Travel Pillows

There are a couple different types of travel pillow options, but they all have the same relative function in mind.  Most are designed either for neck or lower back comfort.  The function of any pillow like this is to provide you with the most comfortable trip possible.  If you feel comfortable and rested after any long flight it is a miracle and should be celebrated.  Well, now you can find that this is happens more and more for you.

Some styles of pillow look more like a smaller version of a standard pillow.  These are still rectangular in shape but are just smaller and not as thick.  There are some comfortable ones made like this, unlike the ones the airlines provide.  Those pillows are so small and flat, that they hardly provide any fluff at all.  Not only that but who knows who has been using that one and how many times?  Tempur-pedic brand makes a “3-in-1 pillow” that is designed for travel.  It costs about $75 USD, but provides that same level of support and firmness that Tempur-pedic is known for.

The other popular style is the neck travel pillow.  This one looks like a horseshoe shape or “U” shape.  It gently cradles your neck and head.  It is perfect because you can rest your eyes with your head back and not worry about your head falling much to one side or the other.  It provides support for your neck so you rest in comfort.  There are also inflatable versions of this type of travel pillow.  These are much easier to pack or carry in a purse.  Then, when you are ready to use it, simply blow it up and place it beneath or around your neck.  These “U”-shaped styles range in price from about $12-25 USD depending upon the type and brand you choose.
