Taking An LPN Program

If you want to qualify as an LPN which is the short way of saying Licensed Practical Nurse you first have to undertake an approved LPN program.  Once you have completed the relevant training which includes both a clinical and non clinical phase you will be required to take an exam that is run by your State Board of Nursing.  The exam is called the NCLEX-PN.  This is a pre-requisite for you being able to practice in any work location as a practical nurse.

LPN programs are comparatively easy to find these days as the demand for LPN is currently high and is expected to continue to increase over the coming few years.  The result of this is that the outlook for LPN jobs in coming years is really good and makes the difficult decision to embark on a career in nursing a lot less risky.
