Silk Bed Linens
In terms of silk bed linen, there are two primary kinds of silk, wild silk and silk that has been cultivated. Wild silk comes from the cocoons of wild silk worms. The filament threads that come out of these cocoons aren’t as long and continuous as are the threads of cultivated silk. This makes wild silk less durable and not as strong compared to cultivated silk. For sheets, you should have durability on your mind. Even though they are more costly, sheets that are derived from cultivated silk are a better choice since the filaments are longer and stronger. Cultivated silk is many times called Mulberry Silk. It got this name because mulberries are the only food that the cultivated silkworms will eat. Mulberry silk is also the most expensive kind, but remember you often get what you pay for.
