It is important for you to be able to recognize poison ivy symptoms so that you do not think that it is something else that has come out on your skin. Here are the most common poison ivy symptoms that you will recognize.
Typically, there will be a small curved rash which will have a tiny bumps of fluid filled sacs that appears on the area that has been contaminated. These typically appear one or two days after you have come in contact with the poison ivy so it can be a difficult to recognize where the contact actually occurred. This rash will seem to spread which may also lead to fears that the poison ivy may still be present on our skin or perhaps our clothes.
Eventually, the poison ivy will become fluid filled sacs that are on the area that has been affected and typically, a red rash will go along with it. The area will probably itch quite a bit and it is okay for you to scratch it because the reaction is not poison, the oil from the plant is. You may want to avoid scratching it because scarring could occur in some situations but the fact of the matter is, these poison ivy symptoms are simply a rash, not the presence of any of the poison that you came into contact with.
