How To: Data Recovery

Although computers and technology can be our best friend, they can also be our worst enemy. If you work on a computer, surely at least once you have had a computer issue bring you down. There are so many different possibilities of things that can happen which may cause you to lose data. In that case, there is still a chance you can get your data back with data recovery.

You can go through the recovery process simply enough yourself. Even if you delete files from the Recycle Bin that does not mean they are lost forever. In fact, they stick around for quite some time before being replaced by more data. There will almost always be a way to retrieve any lost data you either accidentally deleted or which got cut off short by a power outage.

The first step is checking to see what files are viewable. The Partition Recovery works best for this. This saves you from having to do too much work, although you should be prepared because you will need to spend a great deal of time searching through files. There will not be anything easy about this and it can quickly turn into a real frustration. There is also the Data Recovery tool which may work here. This tool can perform a full lost file recovery, but keep in mind that this too can be quite the time-consuming process.

Obviously the best way to prevent having to deal with data recovery at all is to be cautious when working. Always save your work and backup your most important files. At least this way you have something to turn back to if you need to.  If you’re using easily transported options such as a USB drive or an external hard drive, then make sure they are not exposed to weather or other things such as food and drinks which can cause data corruption.
