How to Buy Computer Laser Printers
If you’re decided on buying a laser printer, the usual case that happens is that we try to come up with a budget and stick with it. This is a very smart way of buying. However, it may leave you with a computer laser printer that does not measure up to the task. This happens when we set a pretty low budget for laser printers. Laser printers are very expensive if you’re looking to buy a decent laser printer. In comparison, the price of a decent laser printer is equivalent to the price of a high-end inkjet printer.
If you don’t think that the kind of printer matters to you, then you should get an inkjet printer. However, if you’re dead set on buying a computer laser printer, there must be reasons why you are not willing to forego your selection. Usually, the primary reasons are speed and quality. If these are your reasons, then you already have an idea of how to buy laser printers.
Speed is usually the reason why people buy laser printers. Computer laser printers are known to print at a very fast pace because it prints page by page and not per line like what inkjet printers do. Laser printers are also known for printing out dry prints. In the case of inkjet printers, you still have to wait for the ink to dry before you can stack the pages on top of each other. For this reason, if you’re printing using inkjet, especially if it’s colored, it is not a good idea to print pages non-stop.
Take note that the faster the printer is, the higher the cost. This is also true with the printing resolution. Most printer companies balance the speed and resolution in order to come up with a price that is marketable to the general market. If they put in too much speed and resolution, they may be forced to increase the prices to the point that no one will even consider buying them. However, this is the perspective of printer developers. In your case as a buyer, you need to know what speed you can work with.
Another concern when buying laser printers is their size. Most laser printers are very heavy and bulky. It is important to note that you already have ample space in the house or office before you go buying this large machine. Most offices place these printers in a secluded room because they can sometimes be noisy since they are fast printers. They can heat up the surroundings as well because they use a heating element in the printing process so you should also consider that when looking for a location. If you have air conditioning or ample ventilation, then this shouldn’t be much of a concern.
The last thing, which is not the least, which people need to check when buying a computer laser printer, is their resolution. They can do this by requesting a demo printing in order to see the quality of their prints. The output of laser printers is known to be far better than that of inkjet printers. However, it never hurts to have an inkjet printer as well when doing a demo. That way, you can be assured of your potential purchase. After all, nobody wants to spend a lot of money on laser printers when inkjet printers can do a better job.
