Allergy and Cough
A cough is a forceful ejaculation of air-flow from the lungs which can be heard by human ears. Coughing is generally used to prevent the damage to the respiratory system by clearing it of secretions and irritants. So coughing is good. Yes, it is good but for few times only. If the quantity increases, it can become a problem for anyone.
Generally cough is a reflex triggered by human body, if any cough receptors are found in the respiratory system. The reflex is triggered in the cough centre of the brain. Commonly, every human being will cough twice in a hour to clear the respiratory system. But sometimes the respiratory system becomes infected by bacteria and due to this the coughing increases, and the more it increases the more it becomes painful for the person. It is called as cough due to allergy. In most of the patients the cough lasts for 1-2 weeks, but if it lasts more than that, check with a doctor, because it can be a sign of pneumonia.
A cough is of two types; dry cough or productive cough. In a dry cough the body don’t throw sputum so it is more irritating for the body, as it makes the whole respiratory duct very dry. On the other hand a productive cough includes sputum or waste, so it is less painful than dry cough. The colour of a productive cough depends mostly on the infection; it can be gray, green, and red (if it contains blood). The inclusion of blood in sputum (cough) is a serious sign. It shows the presence of internal bleeding, so you need to consult a doctor for the same.
Treatment for allergy and cough
In the treatment of cough, it is very important to know the reason or allergy behind it. So we don’t treat chocolate allergies by cough allergy. Once we know about specific reason, we can give patient a better treatment.
